Peter Charles Taylor (PhD, MEd, DipEd, BSc) is Director of the International Transformative Education & Research Network and an Adjunct Professor at Murdoch University in Perth, Western Australia. He also works as an international consultant.
His work sits at the meeting point of the arts and the sciences. He has argued consistently for a science and mathematics education that is socially responsible and culturally contextualised — one that develops creativity, critical reflection, ethical astuteness and a sense of connectedness, rather than technical competence alone. That argument runs through his writing on STEAM education and through his work on transformative research methodology, where he has helped establish multi-paradigmatic, arts-based and autoethnographic approaches as serious tools for educational inquiry.
He has collaborated closely with colleagues at Kathmandu University School of Education over many years, and through ITERN supports researchers and teachers across Asia, Africa, the Middle East and the United States. He has more than 300 research publications to his name.
